Apply for an Expedited U.S. Visa Appointment

If you have a sudden and urgent need to travel to the United States, you may qualify for an expedited appointment at the U.S. Embassy. Here’s a straightforward guide on how to apply for an expedited appointment, keeping things simple and easy to understand.

An expedited appointment is for those with unforeseen travel needs, like emergencies or urgent business. Before applying, ensure you meet the criteria, as you can only make one expedited appointment request.

Emergency appointments are only for serious emergencies. You must pay the regular visa fees first. If granted an expedited appointment but later refused a visa or miss your interview, you can’t use this option again. If your expedited request is denied, attend your initially scheduled regular appointment.

Emergencies may include:

  • Life or death situations.
  • Urgent business.
  • Student or exchange visitor needs.
  • ESTA denial for specific reasons is mentioned below.

Lack of planning is not an emergency.
